I have always been vocal about being such a huge fan of Becky Higgins and her Project Life concept. If only I wasn’t scared to tackle such a project that would extend all year + I wasn’t late in deciding to order this year, I would have been knee-deep in Project Life. However, it is all for the best because they will be coming out with new editions and a variety of new products by October.

Friends and Family, take your pick on the new editions coming out:
Project Life

I am getting (note that word: GET instead of LIKE) the Clementine Edition but the Amber binder. I seriously cannot wait to start this project next year. It’s all about getting caught up this year (I think. Well, I will try).

Today (September Edition)..

September 16, 2011 | Category: Today... | Leave a Comment

Today…

Outside my window…the sun is shining – a first ever since September started. It has been very cold in our part of the world lately, especially at night. There are times I’m afraid we would need infrared home heater already.

I am thinking…about how to find the joy in working again. For the past month I have been working to beat deadlines and not working for the love of it.

I am thankful for…everyday. I have been doing some soul-searching lately (because I’d rather not work) and I realize how blessed we are this year.

From the kitchen…spaghetti + Coke (Zero).

I am wearing…jammies.

I am creating…a variety of things – Martha’s “Quotable Quotes” book, our Disney trip, the SG trip, the Guangzhou trip and Martha’s 1st year. Of course, these haven’t been converted into anything tangible yet. :)

I am going…to serve on a retreat again next week. Excited. Blessed. Thankful.

I am reading…the Five Love Languages.

I am hoping…to get my Starbucks fix today – my husband has promised he will take me!

I am hearing…the electric fan roaring. Martha has finally given in to sleep.

Around the house…everybody is sleeping. At one in the afternoon. Siesta time.

One of my favorite things…my iPhone (haven’t changed my answer in months!).

A few plans for the rest of the week: Finish pending tasks.

A picture I love:
Why I scrapbook

As a scrapbooker, I have a lot of gadgets that help me record my family’s memories. I have my computer that operates with a wireless mouse and keyboard, a camera, an iPhone and a video camera. All of these operate on different types, forms and sizes of batteries. I try and do my part and use rechargeable batteries if I can and dispose of old batteries responsibly.

I hope that more households do the same. Many batteries contain harmful metals and chemicals that can leak into our air and water supply when they are dumped into the trash. Single-use batteries (like the kind you pick up at the drugstore or the supermarket checkout aisle) are usually alkaline batteries. They do contain some mercury, but the amount has been steadily reduced since 1984. Though they’re not as hazardous as they used to be, single-use batteries should still be recycled and not thrown out, as there are potential hazards that can arise from leaks. Many rechargeable batteries, on the other hand, contain cadmium, which can be particularly hazardous to the environment and to people should it leak in a landfill or go through an incinerator.

Thanks to the Mercury-Containing and Rechargeable Battery Management Act, we now have better options in recycling batteries. Nowadays, you can drop off these batteries at most Staples or RadioShack locations. These and other retailers have partnered with Call2Recycle, a free rechargeable battery and cell phone collection organization. Recycled batteries are melted and broken down into their component metals, which are then repurposed into new batteries or steel.

The same thing goes for motorcycle batteries or any discount batteries bought from a battery store. Proper and responsible disposal is a must!

Movement in a Page

So very thankful I was able to be there during Martha’s toddler years. I call it her “golden years” and she will never lack memories of it, long after I’m gone. It’s all in her books.

She can give Beyonce a run for her money with these moves.

And she needs insurance on that adorable nguso of hers when the time comes. Red lipstick would absolutely look gorgeous on her when the time comes – hahaha!

Some Martha-Ba Pages

September 12, 2011 | Category: 2011 Pages | 1 Comment

I am stuck in a (scrapping) rut.

See, I want to finish my daughter’s Martha-isms book, similar to his big brother’s Matthew-isms book but it has taken me longer than I want to. I haven’t had the drive lately or the focus. I have realized multi-tasking will not work when I am trying to lose weight so I am chanelling all my energy, drive and will (yes, trying really hard) on that aspect – I am trying to get acquainted with the metric system (micrometers and not think pounds or pints or ounces. Let all else slide.

But I will finish this, eventually. I will.

I know you won’t believe me but yes, you can actually control project costs and resources through the IT Cost Management solutions. These days, IT managers are faced with a dilemma to keep the project costs down and use the resources well. So it’s important to do the IT Financial Management before the project starts. In this way, you can lay down everything from unit costs, infrastructure and application development costs, and the unforeseen costs.

In my experience, these unforeseen costs are the cause of project delays that would sometimes lead to end of the project without even deployment. We definitely don’t want this to happen. Because one goal that we want to achieve by each IT project is to deploy and let the users feel happy and satisfied. These are all possible with the IT cost management that I came across this morning. It looks promising since it can help you proactively manage the Business of IT. It also has the ability to know the positive ROI for all the IT investments. In my company, we would need this because there are still managers who are not fully convinced on allotting a huge budget for the new servers and applications. But if we present the ROI for all these IT investments, I’m positive that they would be convinced.

I was meaning to blog about this last Friday, but work and exercise got in the way. Yep – I have been exercising for 10 straight days now! The husband has been encouraging me to take fat burners for women like Creatine because it helps burn fat more but I am adamant I will do this the hard but tried and tested way.

Back to templates — I have pitched this idea to Lynnette during our brainstorming sessions at our CT forum, that I have always wanted to scrap about the modern times – headlines, current trends etc – but really do not know how. I definitely do not want to scrap ONE news headline in page and the templates here are just perfect. Methinks these would be repeated all throughout our monthly albums!

Bring out your samsung digital cameras, this super fun idea of Becky Higgins is very easy to do (aka do-able) and anybody can finish it in time!

I am still thinking how to best document my children’s school years (I have a kid in 5th grade already!) so I am kind of waiting on Becky’s School Album a la Project Life that’s going to be released in 2012. In the meantime, I am going to be doing a photobook on my youngest’s first year in school.

Just in case I have not mentioned it yet, I am part of Lynnette Penacho’s awesome team! I had doubts of being accepted but Lynnette saved me all the trouble of applying when she sent me an e-mail. I have been working with her goodies before she came out with a team so it was a plus for me – Yey!

She recently came out with a new set of Favorites templates. I wasn’t able to play with them because I was out of the country but will definitely play with them this week when I have settled down with everything (need to do laundry, look up clawfoot tubs by bathsofdistinction, visit the doctor and clean the house first!).

The foundation of the awesome templates:

And just in case you need more inspiration for some more of her templates, here are a few of what I have done:
