Controlled Project Costs – Thanks to IT Cost Management!
September 5, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
I know you won’t believe me but yes, you can actually control project costs and resources through the IT Cost Management solutions. These days, IT managers are faced with a dilemma to keep the project costs down and use the resources well. So it’s important to do the IT Financial Management before the project starts. In this way, you can lay down everything from unit costs, infrastructure and application development costs, and the unforeseen costs.
In my experience, these unforeseen costs are the cause of project delays that would sometimes lead to end of the project without even deployment. We definitely don’t want this to happen. Because one goal that we want to achieve by each IT project is to deploy and let the users feel happy and satisfied. These are all possible with the IT cost management that I came across this morning. It looks promising since it can help you proactively manage the Business of IT. It also has the ability to know the positive ROI for all the IT investments. In my company, we would need this because there are still managers who are not fully convinced on allotting a huge budget for the new servers and applications. But if we present the ROI for all these IT investments, I’m positive that they would be convinced.

Scrap Your RIGHT NOW with Embellish It Now!
August 24, 2011 | Category: 2011 Pages | Leave a Comment
I was meaning to blog about this last Friday, but work and exercise got in the way. Yep – I have been exercising for 10 straight days now! The husband has been encouraging me to take fat burners for women like Creatine because it helps burn fat more but I am adamant I will do this the hard but tried and tested way.
Back to templates — I have pitched this idea to Lynnette during our brainstorming sessions at our CT forum, that I have always wanted to scrap about the modern times – headlines, current trends etc – but really do not know how. I definitely do not want to scrap ONE news headline in page and the templates here are just perfect. Methinks these would be repeated all throughout our monthly albums!
This template pack includes FOUR themed template designs that are perfect for capturing a snapshot of your life right now:

Personal Yearbooks (A School Project Idea)

Bring out your samsung digital cameras, this super fun idea of Becky Higgins is very easy to do (aka do-able) and anybody can finish it in time!
I am still thinking how to best document my children’s school years (I have a kid in 5th grade already!) so I am kind of waiting on Becky’s School Album a la Project Life that’s going to be released in 2012. In the meantime, I am going to be doing a photobook on my youngest’s first year in school.

Just in case I have not mentioned it yet, I am part of Lynnette Penacho’s awesome team! I had doubts of being accepted but Lynnette saved me all the trouble of applying when she sent me an e-mail. I have been working with her goodies before she came out with a team so it was a plus for me – Yey!

She recently came out with a new set of Favorites templates. I wasn’t able to play with them because I was out of the country but will definitely play with them this week when I have settled down with everything (need to do laundry, look up clawfoot tubs by bathsofdistinction, visit the doctor and clean the house first!).
The foundation of the awesome templates:

And just in case you need more inspiration for some more of her templates, here are a few of what I have done:

Today..

Today…
Outside my window…is dark out. I am writing this at 5AM and I am using all of my willpower not to go crawl back into bed and sleep again. (Came down with a bad case of the flu once we landed back in Manila yesterday).
I am thinking…about work, my health, my kids, how incredibly blessed we are right now, the challenge I am willing to step up to and take. And oh, the credit card charges we are going to face next month with all the shopping we made. Ha!
I am thankful for…SO MANY things. The inspiring trip, the opportunity to serve again, how I love serving with my family, how much I love my husband and my kids – at this point, my heart if overflowing with so many good things and I really do not want it to fade away because I get distracted so easily with useless things.
From the kitchen…haven’t had breakfast yet. But I am sure it will be awesome. We are staying at my parents’ place for the weekend.
I am wearing…jammies.
I am creating…nothing. Slowly going to ease into creating again.
I am going…to need a vacation from this vacation. Maybe a vacation by the pool and laying on Adirondack chairs for the rest of the day? *Wishful thinking*
I am reading…journals.
I am hoping…to be well enough to start working normally by Monday! To accomplish this I need to stay in bed!
I am hearing…the electric fan roaring.
Around the house…everybody is sleeping.
One of my favorite things…my iPhone.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Slowly exercise.
A picture I love:

The Benefits of Children’s Toys and Adult Toys
August 1, 2011 | Category: Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Toys, and its proper use, can greatly benefit children of different ages, even adults too! They can help children through out various stages of their development and help them learn skills. The most important consideration is to choose toys that are appropriate for a child’s age. You should determine the child’s current developmental needs, emotionally and physically and then look for the right kind of toys that will help them during that stage of development.
Playing has proven to play a part in a person’s growth – in intelligence, creativity and cognitive/logical skills. It is the most natural activity that a baby does.
Examples:
1. Infants would need to learn to focus and grasp objects. Toys that develop hand-eye coordination would be perfect during these times.
2. Toddlers would need to learn to walk and develop their gross motor skills. Toys that focus on stacking and pulling would be great.
3. Pre-schoolers would need to master their language basics and develop fine motor skills. Coloring activities, toys that introduce basic colors, shapes and the alphabet would be appropriate.
4. Adolescents now focus on playing on a higher level as they aim for intellectual growth. Logical and cognitive skills are developed at this early stage.
5. Adults play for relaxation – this keeps their bodies physically fit, active and young. It is not surprising that some also use adult toys such as a rabbit vibrator to have activities on the sexual aspect of their beings.

A Week In The Life
July 26, 2011 | Category: 2011 Pages, Album Projects, Week in the Life | Leave a Comment
So I have officially decided Sunday night that I will jump into the wagon and participate in A Week in the Life. Ali Edwards is doing it this week, and a whole bunch of scrappers so what better way than to tag along and get some inspiration from them too.
At SSD, Traci Reed has a whole bundle of AWITL products called 10,080 minutes which you can use and the forum has its own threads where you can share pages and talk about AWITL.
As for me, I have an idea which things to document – the PDF file Ali on her blog shared was great on tips.
So here is how I am doing collecting everything. I originally intended it to be all photos from my iPhone but decided last minute Monday that I want to have pictures from my camera too. I am already a pretty heavy document-er – I use IG (iPhone app), Twitter and blog a lot so what I needed was a way to make sure I collect them all. Enter Momento. It’s an iphone app that lets you document life and sync feeds too – which you can export. I syndicated my IG feed, twitter and personal blog feed to it & make one liner comments all throughout the day (Eg: 8AM My nose is itchy
) and before I sleep, I run an export which allows it to be downloaded from my iTunes library. (I haven’t downloaded my Momento export feeds & pictures for yesterday).
I also take screenshots of relevant current events (news) or witty tweets (I would be documenting tweets). I have a spread in my planner where I have a timeline what happens. It’s very random and usually my handwriting is haphazard. Ill figure it out when I sit down to assemble the album.
What I document:
1. Food
2. News
3. Self-Portraits – no matter how ugly I feel I am these days ![]()
4. Clothes we wear
5. Routine
6. Around the house
7. Weather
8. Places We go (which is pretty much house + church + my parents’ house + kids’ school)
Can’t wait how this looks like in the end!
