Now, what wouldn’t I give to have a view like this in my home:

I have always dreamed of having my own version of paradise right within the confines of my home. One that would not give me a reason to go out of town to unwind or relax, because I can do it right at home. Pools and jacuzzi tubs are considered to be a great addition to homes in upscale properties. It is almost always a given that they have one. In Florida, Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arizona and California, a swimming pool is a must have to help people beat the intense heat of summer.

When you decide to have a pool at your house, you need to make sure that you consult it with your project architect, who always contacts or refers you to a landscape designer or architect so that they can give you the necessary materials to be used for walkways, posts and tiles in the area. It must be safe, non-slippery, and must be manageable in dry and wet conditions. Landscape Design should not be taken easily – it requires a great designer to be able to come up with a great aesthetic place which is functional as well. As you can see in the picture above, not only is it beautiful to look at, but the walkways go in a circle and not steep enough for kids. There is also a patio umbrella with seats for lounging around. It is perfect for parties and BBQ lunches!

Remember when kids always answer police, doctor or teacher whenever they would be asked what they want to be when they grow up? Well, sadly, almost 90% of them change their minds when they grow up – but that 90% changes amibitions within the three fields only. I have always been perplexed on how the justice systems works and it takes a lot to be familiar with all the laws. That is why I admire lawyers, police and investigators. Fighting crime, keeping peace and order and laying one’s life down the line is one thing but you also have to have the brains to deserve the job. Earning a criminal justice associate degree at Northwestern College would be your best bet in starting the field right. Those who have earned their degrees in this area are often involved in homeland security positions, by protecting private property and aiding in the investigation of criminal activity.

If you are thinking of making a go for it, thank you – for protecting our community, even in the future. I appreciate it, for my kids.

This is what schools and offices prepare students and employees these days – disaster preparedness. Whereas before people from all walks of life are taught what to do in emergency situations, they are now taught how to deal and be prepared for disaster. The past years have gifted man with disasters in epic proportions – earthquakes, storms and city flooding reaching two stories high and tsunamis. These types of occurrence is something we can never really prevent, but as the title says, we can always prepare for.

For one thing, the government has advised all homes to prepare a disaster kit for each member of the family, a waterproof bag or plastic that has the following: a bottle of water, flashlights, extra batteries, a set of clothes, crackers, medicines, and your essential documents. Pelican Cases molded plastic containers that seal with an airtight and watertight gasket.

There are now even micro cases that can hold and protect your cell phone, photographic camera, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), electronic games, pager, radio, and other valuable small items – we are all in the electronic age and most of these are now counted as valuables. I would invest in one for the family just in case.

I have had this long (down to my back), straight (read: lifeless), uncolored (clarification: left uncolored for months so my roots are showing) hair for months. I haven’t cut my hair in over a year and it is just screaming for a change. I have planned to have it curled (I have been dreaming of curls since two years ago) but now that I have achieved the length I want for it to have curls, fickle-minded me wants to have it cut! Hairstyles for summer are short layers because one would spend less amount of time having it dried and if you have treated hair, being out in the sun will be damaging to it. It is also perfect to have it grow long in time for the cooler months.

I checked out the Latest Hairstyles and it seems sexy layers, long lengths and sideswept bangs never go out of style. I might as well have it curled to be able to experience it. As one friend advised, if it doesn’t suit me, I can always have it cut. If I cut it now, I will wait another year to find out if it suits me.

Hair Styles involving curls require one thing: volume and control. I think I am in need of hair products soon! I will post about it soon (or scrap about it why not!) once I have my long-delayed curls!

What would be a page about my guy if there will no page about my boy? I scrapped about him a lot this past week – I was trying to finish his second grade album (he is just about to end third grade!) and I am 75% done. I would not do it again though – a few spreads per school year will be in his album since 1) It takes a lot of work 2) It’s impractical and 3) His sister is going to be in school next school year and I know I would not be able to keep up! I just need to have an album done because he participated in a lot of school activities that year.

I had my son when I was two months short of turning 20, so I didn’t have any health care insurance nor life insurance. I am thinking of getting my life insurance quote soon – he is turning 10 and me 30 by the end of the year so I better start now!

Here are his pages, more to come!
