Miss Mint’s Lift A Chick Challenge

In the spirit of my previous post where the Mint Chicks decided to scraplift some of your fabulous pages, they’ve now turned on eachother (evil laugh) and have decided it would be fun to scraplift one another - and they want you to play along! This is just a fun challenge to get us all to ‘try on’ some different styles, experiment a little and most importantly, make some fantastic pages. So what do ya say? You in? Great!
This week is Aggie (aggietha) week. All you have to do is pick your favorite page and scraplift it! Check out the links to Aggie’s delicious pages below. No shortage of inspiration in there, that’s for sure!
Peppermint Creative Gallery
DigiShopTalk GalleryDon’t forget to link us up to the original!
Get to it…those pages aren’t going to make themselves people.
It all started with the idea of lifting a layout from the gallery. I suggested we lift each other (so I can get my mojo going), but alas, I was the first
I hope you join!
Here is the lift I did:

LO Share: Boy and Girl
This is a scraplift of Natalie Braxton’s This Boy, This Girl layout. Have I already mentioned how much I love Natalie’s work and how she is a person? I was able to CT for her for around 10 months and she has the kindest, most generous heart I have ever seen in digiland. I had to resign because I wanted to cut back on work and there were some nasty things happening around the digiworld that made me want to boycott scrapforums altogether (uhmm..I actually am not active anywhere anymore save for SSD which is my home). Anyhow, I thought Id share some of my process in creating a layout with you.
I have what you can call a notebook for ideas - it’s very tattered and worn in because Martha writes in it too
- I write down things the kids say - or I blog about it. Then I look for photos and then the kits. Before when I was in a gazillion CTs, it was kits first before the story and now I realized my kids wont care less about the kit - so I reverse even if it is harder.
I also am a big fan of templates - templates I make for my own personal use
This makes my work so faster. I have saved templates of shapes I used and created.
Inspiration - I always always drowned myself in paper inspiration ideas (2Peas!). I rarely look at digi layouts because sometimes there are digi layouts which have no room for journaling which I cant live without - this is just me though. Clean, simple, linear
I love that I have found my style.
Then I create.
June is just around the corner, I want you to look at all the layouts you have made this year and ask yourself - are these layouts Ive invested time and money from will make my kids smile? Will they be able to understand? Will they hear and read my story?
I look at mine and Im just 75% satisfied.
No worries there. Im close to finding how I want my memories to be recorded.
And that is all that matters

Anyone tell me what a glass sink looks like?
LO Share: Hot Mama
Just reminding you that Peppermint Creative has a sale - all products at 30% off! I did a layout the Hot Mama paper pack and elements.
LO Share: Matthew.
Of course, I had to share the layouts I made for Matthew’s recent achievement at school
It’s good to blog, you know that?
I have been trying to blog to record more memories and I glad I blogged about the pride I felt when Matthew got his gold medal. The journaling was copied from my main blog.
This one uses Miss Mint’s Elementary Grammar Paper and Element Pack. This was made so quickly I am amazed how well Miss Mint’s stuff just works for me
It’s also nice that the pages I did for his pre-school layouts were in the shade of orange

My first layout as CT for Miss Mint of Peppermint Creative.

This is my paternal grandmother. She turned 84 last March and she is the only living grandma I have. We are particularly close to her - her memory is sharp but her body is really weak (she has diabetes). I remember when I was a teenager Id talk about my boyfriend and she would giggle and talk about hers from her youth. She is a special woman. Really.
