Because it has Martha layouts!

I Love Kay Miller.

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

I really do. She is one of the few designers in the industry whom I know personally and really like. I stepped down from her creative team at the start of the year to help me focus on bigger things and she has been the absolute doll still letting me play with her designs at her own pace.

So over the weekend, I decided I’d devote time to scrap her stuff, which is actually not hard. The thing with a Kay Miller kit is, you cannot just use it once. It is so packed with so much goodness that I personally think her work is a great candidate for using in making a whole photobook – without ever repeating the same design twice.

Just look at her BabyCakes kit:

imagePerfect kit to use for all those baby photos – it has papers for both boys and girls, has bears, binkies, strollers, word art, strollers, toys, buttons, flowers (no, there are no disposable gloves!) and great pretty papers.

I just had to scrap matching pages for my kids using a template by Cindy Schneider. (Templates are surely saving my life lately!)

image image My kids look alike when they were young no?
And if those aren’t enough, I scrapped a page about them being binkie babies:

Happy Hump Day!

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I hope everyone is not getting too overwhelmed with December being only five days away from now :) (Because I am getting overwhelmed). Aside from some projects I REALLY REALLY would like to finish, I need to prioritize real life projects and the struggle on which one to really do (and finish) and that struggle alone is overwhelming I dont really get anything concrete done.

Anyways, here are a couple of LOs I have done for the past two days. I usually take a break from scrapping if I realize I have not been scrapping for stories. I plan to scrap tonight if the kids will let me :)

(All layouts are linked to my Flickr gallery)

Im busy uploading layouts to Artscow, I got 150 8×10 prints for free because of referrals :D Thank you – I can now completely get rid of my 2008 layouts backlog at a much cheaper price. Edil will be so surprised to see I can fill my shelf with my art now. I can now work on getting the Library of Memories done (finally, after three years of scrapping, LOL).

I need to work and then catch up on sleep after I tally with our budget. Scrap more! Spend less (my mantra for the rest of the year LOL).

Halloween Scrap Layouts

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

I can officially say I’m all scrapped out for Halloween. I scrapped these pages yesterday and though I still have a lot of stories to scrap about Halloween, I think I have to say I’m getting sick seeing orange and purple in a kit. :)

All of the layouts above were done using Miss Mint’s goodies.

You can scrap many many pages with her Halloween Grab Bag and the monsters in the Monster Mash Add-on are simply just too cute to resist! She still has the 30% sale on until tonight! (Midnight EST)

imageAnd if you love templates, there is a new template FREE in the PMP My Challenge thread at the forum.

That was made by yours truly so I hope you get to join!

The layout you see above (first one on the right) uses the template :)

On to Kay Miller goodness, I finally was able to scrap with Cute Spooks with no other than my little Cute Boo herself :)

This was the result after scrapping with her templates as well. I still want to use that haunted house you see in the preview but Im all scrapped out for scrapping for Halloween. :)

Thank you for dropping by! I’m off to work on my Summer 2008 Album (AGAIN). My free Artscow book is expiring in 5 days and Im still not half way done with it.

Check back tomorrow for some more “all around the digi world” post and challenge links.

LO Share: Kay Miller Full of Life

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Kay has a new kit out called Full of Life:

Kay Miller Full of Life

And since it’s Kay’s work I can make two layouts in two hours, that’s how nice and big Kay’s kits are:

10-18 Grateful for You

10-19 Joyful

My scrap goal for this week is to finish our Summer Album (very simple, lots of photos & journaling) and finish CT assignments. I hope I get to finish it!

Scrappa Rappa!

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Ok, let’s get this out of the way :D LOL
Some layouts from my awesome, fantabulous creative teams:)

Kay released the cutest kit which cannot be anymore perfect than it is for my pictures of Martha holding an umbrella. It’s a two scoops with Kristin Cronin Barrow called Pud Muddles. Check out my LO below:

09-16 Enjoying in the Rain

I had the privilege to host another Cookie Challenge and this time I did a two pager!

Here is my layout:

09-15 A Day in the Life

And of course the Digi-Dares! We have a new dare this week hosted by Lynnette!

For this week’s dare I want you to scrap a characteristic you have in common with someone else. Maybe you and your significant other have a shared love of something or maybe your child has picked up a trait from you. It can be good or bad, that part is up to you!

Dare Flair:
Include a photo of yourself and the person/people you share the trait with. It can be one photo of all of you or individual photos, it’s your choice.

Make something go vertical. It could be your title, the journaling, whatever, just be creative!

Include repeating shapes of some kind – circles, squares, etc. You must repeat the shape at least 3 times.

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

This is one of my most favorite kits from Kay: Heart of Fall! (Seriously, the other one is Simple Pleasures).

Kay Miller Traci Reed Heart of Fall

Here is my layout, I really like this one a lot :D

09-04 Cherished

What I wrote: I dont have pictures of you when you were born. The pictures were erased when our computer crashed. It broke my heart for years. But I realized, the photos maybe gone forever but I will always remember those moments – the early moments I had with you, when God gave me another angel. That is why I’m going to start recording those memories, so that long after I am gone – you will still know. Written: September 16, 2008

That picture above is one of the two pictures left from Martha’s newborn pictures. Our PC crashed and the pictures were wiped out. I think that is the reason I have trouble scrapping baby pictures (add to the fact most of Matthew’s baby pics are still not scanned – so un.fair :D )

But that layout made me WANT to scrap those itty bitty faces again. I have so many stories! I can write all day with my tea light candles and scented ones lit :D

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

I have layout(s) to share :D I actually did four this week (which is actually equivalent to one page a day) and Im feeling very accomplished.

I have cleared my backlog with Kay Miller’s gorgeous kits except for one which I intend to do soon. Here is one I made using her ultra cute Cutie Patootie (the flowers here are beyond the top gorgeous)!

Here is my layout:

My mission is to make a layout of all the fabulous cookies (I somehow missed August and September :D ). But now, Im off to find recipes I can cook for the husband when he comes home tomorrow. Bye!

LO Share: Blooming Crazy

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Finally, my last layout for Kay (my most fave I think out of the three Im sharing today): Blooming Crazy. This is a two scoop kit with Manda Bean and the colors here are gorgeous. I so wanted to use every single product in this kit:

Blooming Crazy kay Miller Manda Bean

I used a template from Bree featuring the latest Treat of the Month, Nikki Hawkins (Her gallery is amazing, I wasnt able to do a TOTM for her but Im planning to get one done within the month):

Inspired by Nikki Bree Clarkson

(I told you templates can be a real life-saver!)

09-03 At Peace

I love this layout because of that picture. I discovered the old gem when I was tagging pictures. A little conversion and the mood was set. I hope I can take a picture like that again (which is far to happen given the kids fight like cats and dogs EVERY SINGLE DAY).

I have unlocked cell phones to charge. Im going to be activating my SMART number again because SUN doesnt shine on the house – we dont have signal.
