My daughter recently celebrated her 5th birthday and due to my very grave habit of procastination, I decided last minute to make some bunting banners for her. It would have been better if I made it all myself – there are a lot of pretty princess (and pink) kits at the shoppe and there is the scrappers’ toolbox by Dani Mogstad specifically for banners. But I had no time so I ordered these custom-made over at Etsy (I paid around $5 for it, not bad, considering it was personalized with her name, age and the black-haired princess). So while I was enjoying a movie from our wireless home theatre system I was cutting these out from paper:

It’s two hybrid projects in a month – may I say I’ve done a good job printing everything? (Because that was what I just did – printed everything!)

I printed these adorable printables from Dani Mogstad while I was studying about the Arizona car insurance quotes my uncle told me to check so I can give him a recommendation (as if I know anything about it!). I saw them used by a scrapper who shared it in the SSD forums and had the idea to have them for my Four People Times 12 Project for February.

I love how it turned out!

For those of you who are not familiar with scrapbooking, there is what we call traditional scrapbooking, where scrapbookers use paper and the usual stuff you see in traditional scrapbooks. There is also digital scrapbooking, the kind that I do, where everything is done digitally, with the help of a computer software. Both of them can get quite expensive, with expensive supplies like paper and paper flowers for traditional scrapbooking and digital scrapbooking banking on equipment – you need a fast and heavy duty computer that can run on numerous layers of Adobe Photoshop. You would also need a large hard drive because digital scrapbooking kits take up a lot of bytes (space). The third kind, one which I have been longing to try, is a mix of the traditional and the digital, and we call it hybrid scrapbooking.

Hybrid scrapbooking is digital papers printed out and embellished with scrapbooking elements like ribbons and flowers. I love seeing projects from my computer come to life, but you need to invest on a good printer and it can take a lot of ink.

You might need to order several replacement printer cartridges and have them in stock, because nothing is more frustrating than having to stop a project for awhile because you ran out of ink. You can get your supply of printer ink cartridges at Printer-Cartridges.com. They carry all types of ink for all brands of printer and even offer replacement or refill kits. You also can bring your printer cartridge so you can be sure what type of ink refill kit you would need to order.

It’s no longer available at SA though. I plan to make some nice stuff for Edil using this album. I already have the album from Glo’s package way back last year, LOL.

And if you havent downloaded an awesome project by Ali Edwards, you can go here. You are absolutely nuts if you havent subscribing to her blog! I have seen some very nice lace cardstock and clear albums at the LSS here but it’s so expensive. I hope I can find a way to recreate this digitally.

I have been thinking of some house projects involving some digital scrapbooking, well, hybrid actually. We are planning to have DSL instead of wi-fi at home but with my laptop, Im still rooting for wi-fi. Hmm, a mobile router has just been installed in the town proper. I hope my service provider can provide internet access just in case our main internet connection dies down!

This is such a steal for the price and kits you will get.
And we are launching new challenges this week so you might want to check it out.

In other news, it seems the Santa Monica plastic surgeon Dr. Abergel has been hitting the news already because of his latest works in plastic surgery. Having specialized in the most innovative techniques in plastic surgery today, R. Patrick Abergel, M.D. has more than twenty years to boast of experience in France and in the US. He actually specializes liposculpture.

I got this from Emily Powers.
I plan to make one as soon as finish the Christmas Album.

**Instructions by Emily Powers
here we go!!!

1. print. send it out or print at home. i printed mine at home on my epson and i chose to use matte photo paper.

2. cut them out. i picked this up at target to help ensure that they were PERFECT. and i made matt do it because he has a much steadier hand.

3. adhere your pages onto cd’s. you can use modge podge or spray adhesive. i chose to use the spray adhesive and it worked great!

4. drill a hole through the stack of cd’s. i made matt do this part too. i just asked him and he said he used a 3/16″ bit.

5. bind with ribbon, twine, raffia, binder rings or whatever you like!!! i linked seven binder rings together and hung it from a nail on my bedroom wall next to my inspiration board. it tied a bunch of different patterned ribbons around the ring closest to the album.
