I am a scrapbooker, first and foremost. Whether I dabble on paper glue or create using a mouse and computer, it doesn’t matter what medium we all use. What is important is that we document OUR stories and memories into a medium that is solid and can be passed on to our children and their children. I am a digital scrapbooker. I have never tried paper scrapbooking, and this is not because I hate it or don’t want to. I just do not have the space to store the supplies I want to have and with my current life situation, working with an UNDO button in Photoshop gives me great relief that I can undo any mess I make without wasting so much money on supplies.

I dream of paper scrapbooking some day though. I have been open about wanting to try Becky Higgins’ Project Life and I think I am going to give it a go next year, provided I can organize and “get all caught up” with digital projects. I want to dabble on Card Stock paper and just slipping photos in sheets. I want to write, I miss my own handwriting!!

If there is one material that is common to digital and paper scrapbooking aside from photos and stories, it would be the use of Cardstock. I use it in every single page I make. Cardstock Paper, from what I have learned, comes in different colors, textures and grades (thickness) and each kind is for a specific use. For example, I would use a certain gsm cardstock paper for photo printing and a more textured one as base for my scrapbook layouts. It is also used for envelopes, posters and cards. They are just cut into specific sizes and marketed as such. But everything comes from cardstock paper!

Even if I don’t get to scrapbook as much as I want to and as often as I’d like, it doesn’t stop me from drooling over the kits I see at digiland. If my husband wants grilling gift sets for his birthday (alongside a tool box complete with tools), I am wishing for an endless supply of Paypal money or gift certificates to stores I like so I can digi-shop and print prints from Artscow!
