Busy Buzzing Bee

Friday, March 19th, 2010

I am grateful for work this past week. It might seem hard for some especially schedule-wise because I need to reverse my body clock but it sure has its rewards. I am expanding my connections and network at work and I could not be any happier. It’s stressful sometimes when you need to write about KeyWord One and Keyword Two under time pressure but as they say, “No Pain, No Gain.” I just answer back, “Bring It On.” I promise next week I will be slowing down though. I know people rarely survive with only three hours of sleep each day, they are bound to get sick!

Buzz Editor

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

I am trying out a new process for a program I am with and it needs me to post about their new process called the BuzzEditor. Id like to think I am writing about scrapbooking or writing up a post that will tell you I won a BMW, but that would not be the case. Ignore this post up until I delete it. More scrap pages to share soon! Here is what I am going to share about: 1. My page for the March portfolio at SSD 2. Album project I am busy with 3. A freebie from me (I hope I finish it in time)

How did I get so Lucky?

How did I get us so Lucky?

This is a page that came out of one of the prompts of the SSD March portfolio. I have doing some reading on colon cleansing so I can try it in time for Holy Week and just was so inspired by the prompt!

Journaling:
”I actually feel that blessed should be the right word. Few people really get what they want in life, but God is so good He always gives us what we need, even if we think otherwise. I had this family of mine earlier than planned. My life was supposed to be all about me, my wants and what  I thought I “need” – a career, a lovelife that is supposed to be on standby while I decide if it was what I really want in the long run. God knew I needed an anchor before I can fly, so I would not forget. He gave me these three lovely, beautiful souls to call my family and He always knew this is what I have always wanted – deep down.”

Some More Boy Pages

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

I think I did a good job documenting my little boy this month. Actually, he really is not a little boy anymore. He eats like a wolf and still does not gain a ounce of weight. If he continues to be like this, he will be a tall and lanky teenager needing muscle supplements!

These pages are part of his school album that I finished this month.

SSD really has awesome boy kits – it’s quite a misconception that SSD only has pretty girly kits. While that is true, there are an abundance of boy kits all the time. They only tend to get overshadowed because who couldn’t resist cute girly stuff?

An Update on Project 365

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

I am still doing it! A big accomplishment for me, I think I deserve a pat in the back for that actually. I have to be honest though, sometimes I really run out of things to take a photo of. I could just imagine taking pictures of my closet or my vanity dresser that is peppered with eye wrinkle creams and moisturizers! But I am doing fine. You can look here to see my pictures.

I plan to have them printed every quarter – so by the end of March I can have it printed at Artscow. That would be more or less 60 pages – give or take. I am excited to see how it will end up looking like.

Here is my most favorite POTD so far:

2 Many Photos?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Have you ever had the problem of having too many photos and you are at a loss on how to scrap them? I used Janet Phillips’ 2 Many Photos Templates for my son’s school album. He is turning the magnificent ten this year and I am planning a really nice gift for him. Pretty soon he will be needing adult acne treatment and scrapbooks might be too mushy for him (He doesn’t want to take pictures even, at this age!) so I will soak up all the attention he gives me whenever he pulls out an album and reads it again and again.

Here are a few pages:

31

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

31 is the magic number!

It is the number of pages (some of then two-page spreads counted as one even) I have made for March! March is turning out to be a pretty fruitful month, scrapping wise!

Lest you think that I have not been getting off the computer from scrapping too much and I might need atro phex to help me lose my pounds around my thighs, you are wrong! Thanks to amazing templates I can finish a page within an hour or two! And planning pages really does wonder (being organized too!).

I have finally finished my son’s 2nd grade album (he is finishing 3rd grade next week – go figure!) and I am not doing school by the year anymore, maybe a year per page spread more likely. I have my daughter coming to school by June and I will never catch up if I do this again!

Weathervanes

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Do you even know what these are?

image

These are good old-fashioned weathervanes! I cannot remember the last time I saw these, let alone used them. They were indispensable to farmers as a tool to indicate wind directions. Now, you can tell it through the use of anemometer instruments, but you can still see weather vanes in farms and in homes which have gardens, but they serve mostly as modest decorations.

The whitehall weathervane is most famous for their painted aluminum series, most noted in their beautiful 30-inch series. Lest you think that roosters are the only ones you see in weathervanes, you can see a horse, pigeon and even a carousel.

If the whitehall series is famous for their aluminum weathervanes, good directions weathervane is famous their copper series. They also come in a great variety of sizes, with the largest one designed to sit atop of a pointed roof. They are also completely rust-free and easy to maintain, two criteria needed for outdoor decorations as they will be subject to extremes of temperature.

Most of these series have already come out with aluminum versions too.

The garden weathervane series take off with a modern design to their look, as most weathervanes come in the form of animals which are painted and as big as 30 inches. While animals are still a popular choice, there are modern fixtures as well already – cars, helicopters, even a cowboy!

While there are people who still associate roosters with weather vanes, there have been many different styles that have come out. A pig is also a common weathervane animal, would you believe? You might also see a bear or a cow telling you what direction the wind is blowing. Whatever it is that you are looking for, chances are that someone has thought of it and you will be able to find the design that is perfect for you.
