Showtime is Our Favorite Channel on Satellite TV

Shutter Island is another movie that I chose not to see in theaters because it looked too scary to watch in theater full of movie goers who would hear my terrified gasps and whimpers. This is the main reason why I’m happy that I have Showtime. I love watching cable tv specials channel, Showtime, so my husband and I decided to watch Shutter Island the other night.
First, I was happy that Shutter Island isn’t the horror that I thought it was, based on the previews I had seen. It was more like a thriller. We were immediately impressed by Leonardo DiCaprio. I always am because I think he is a phenomenal actor. And he did not disappoint me with his role as U.S Marshall Teddy Daniels.
Martin Scorsese has once again made an incredible movie. I don’t think that it is possible for him to make anything but something great. Shutter has a very sophisticated plot design, which basically comes from the book that it is based on, so you have to watch it carefully…and rewind if necessary. The movie is so suspenseful and thrilling that we were often sitting on the edge of the couch, wondering what was about to happen. Not once were any of our assumptions correct though because the movie is so skillful directed and has many twists and turns. I think if we had read the book prior to seeing the movie, it would have helped us form correct assumptions. But not knowing beforehand what the movie was about made it better for us.
We also enjoy watching Showtime because it has one of my favorite new shows and that is The Real L Word. I watched The L Word on another station and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Showtime had taken that series and made it into a reality show for cable. I love and my husband is starting to enjoy watching a show about lesbians with me.
