Gadget Freak

If you would ask me seven years ago if I was going to be such a technology gadget freak, I would have laughed at you. Seven years ago, I just started to become acquainted with the internet and opened up a Yahoo e-mail address for myself. I was content receiving a ton of forwarded messages and forwarding them in return. Three months later, I got bored answering tags and memes and spamming (forwarding) it to my friends and discovered that I can have a diary/journal of sorts online. Since I was a bit wary of people snooping around (back then I already knew that the web is a place where everyone can find you), an online journal community was my choice to starting a blog. I had my posts set to be viewed by friends only.

That was when I wished for my own computer (I was not even wishing for a laptop then) and a digital camera (a cute one I didn’t know about pixel size then) to support my blogging. Two years down the road, I have around 12 blogs, earning online and own a laptop (a pink Dell Inspiron 1525), a dSLR camera (Canon xTi), a printer, a Wacom tablet, an iPod Nano and an iPhone.

And the gadget “hunger” doesn’t stop there, unfortunately. The famous Pringles advertisement is true – “Once you pop, you can’t stop.” It is like how men would prefer to take levitra. I just prefer to always have the upgraded versions of gadgets.

I honestly cannot think of anything else I might really need aside from a desktop computer (my CPU got busted so we need to replace some of its parts) but I have been dreaming of getting a compact digital camera that can rival dSLRs. So far, the Panasonic Lumix LX3 and Canon SD90 are neck in neck in my want list. Now that I have the iPhone, I also want a mophie battery juice pack and an iPod dock!

See? It never truly ends.

Once you pop, you can’t stop!
