Journaling:
I consider myself to be blessed to be able to know my grandparents. Growing up, we were spoiled rotten, whatever we want, we were sure to get with my Wawo and Wawo. Wawa had Alzheimer’s when I was too young to understand what it meant. When I did, it was too late for me to hug her and tell her I love her with her understanding me. Wawo took me in when I went to college. He died of a massive heart attack the morning I left for school one day. I never got to say I love you. And Thank You.
For Everything.

Layout Share: Natalie Braxton Goodies!

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

I haven’t shared any layout I have made using THE Natalie Braxton’s goodies!

Honestly, I am so lucky to be on her team – her designs are unique, amazing, top of the notch quality and creative! But, one thing I am most thankful for is being able to be friends with Natalie herself, she is so nice, generous and kind! Seriously, I have nothing but great words for her.

On to the goodies, WARNING! This is an enabling thread!

Stand Up & Scrap Challenge 1

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

The first challenge is here!

Challenge #1: Dream Big

Inspirational Focus:

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, you can. Boldness has a genius, magic and power to it.” -Goethe

Dream Big – If you could have one dream come true what would it be? What does your dream say about you? Be creative and design a page that is meaningful to YOU and shares with the world a dream that you hope will come true someday.

Design Focus:

Brushwork – we think brushes have the ability to take an ordinary layout extraordinary places and want to challenge you to use brushes to bring the inspirational focus of your page to life. Brushes can add whimsy, grunge, beauty and so much more to a page so use them to create a mood to suit the dream you are sharing.

TOOT :)

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Oh my, was I gone? :)

I have so many news to share but real life has been getting in the way. I would rather spend my free time scrapping, if you know what I mean :D

BUT! I have some great news to share :)

First, my layout was one of the winning entries in DDE’s Summer End Contest. Do you know what I won? I won $50 worth of gift certificates!! Big honkin’ TOOT really! Plus, Gina Cabrera was so kind enough to let me know that she loved all my layouts (I submitted three!) that she asked me to be a Guest CT member for October and November! You should have seen how wide my grin was – I have always bought everything she put out (Truth be told, I told Ill be using the GC for later as I have most of her stuff anyways, LOL). Being guest is truly a dream come true!

By the way, you can see my layout here.

Second, I won a Shabby Shoppe GC just by blogging about the Songbird Kit of the month! It could not have come at a better time – I have some SP goodies I want to pick up :D

Now, I have a lot of layouts to share – but those will come for later. Just wanted to share some really nice toots :D

Songbird Avenue September: Faded Sapphire

SongBird Blinkie

Did you read the blinkie? Design + Charity = Happiness

fadedsapphire.jpg

This month’s guest designer is Carrie Stephens and she chose to have Love Without Boundaries as the recipient of the proceeds of this month’s kit! I have made it a point to buy Songbird Avenue’s monthly kits so I can somehow help and still feed my shopping addiction to digital kits. You wont be disappointed on this kit – it is huge, fun, whimsical and very very pretty!

I hope you help make a wish come true by buying the kit for a limited time only this month!

Stand Up and Scrap

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Stand Up LogoI am so honored to be part of the SSD team, I really am! We are going to be holding a huge event called Stand Up and Scrap, which is a collaboration with Little Dreamer Designs and Disc Talk Radio.

What is exactly Stand Up and Scrap? It is a contest hosted by SSD, LDD and DSTR which has two levels of competition – beginner and advanced. You can register at SSD come September 1st for $10.00 and you get the awesome collab kit as well. All proceeds of which will go to the Alliance for Climate Protection. Registration closes on September 16th and the official contest starts on September 17th – October 30th. You can read the official rules here.

Now, if you do not want to join the contest, but still would want to get the mega kit, you can purchase it at the LDD shoppe beginning September 3rd. Here is a peak of the HUGE mega kit: Stand Up!

Stand Up Kit BlinkieStand Up is more than 700MB and has been created by the most impressive team of designers assembled for a collaboration including Amber Clegg, Amy Martin, Ange Barton, Anna Aspnes, Audrey Neal, Christina Renee, Christy Lyle, Eve Recinella, Gina Marie Huff, Gina Miller, Heather Ann Melzer, Heather Roselli, Heidi Williams, Jackie Eckles, Jen Wilson, Julie Mead, Laura Deacetis, Lauren Grier, Lisa Whitney, Lori Barnhurst, MandaBean, Meredith Fenwick, Michelle Coleman, Miriam Lima, Mindy Terasawa, Nancie Rowe Janitz, Robin Carlton, Sara Amarie, Sara Carling, Shabby Miss Jenn, Susan Bartolini, Tiff Brady and Zoe Pearn.

The official blog of Stand Up and Scrap is here. You also can ask questions on the SSD forum.

This is going to be HUGE and such for a worthwhile cause – I am sure you will be so excited when you read all about it later on the launch!

Since I am not eligible to join and got the HUGE kit for free, Id like to RAK one person a free kit! Leave me a comment here and we will pick the lucky number come September 15th (12NNEST). I personally encourage you to join, the challenges will be amazing :D

ETA: I changed the drawing of the winner since we might be late in participating if ever the winner wants to participate in the challenges!

SSD’s From Our Blog to Yours Friday

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

Play with us here!

For this week’s From Our Blog 2 Yours, we are going to take a Dessert Personality Test. If all the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which one would you choose (sorry, you can only pick one). Now please don’t cheat (something we all like to do when it comes to desserts), you must go with the first one you choose! Supposedly, this is very accurate. Pick your dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists think about you.
