I am a little late with making layouts for the workshop. We are already in Week 3 and I’ve yet to finish my Week 1 and 2 layouts. Can I just say taking this workshop has greatly changed the way I journal in my pages and generally changed the way I scrap? Now, my pages’ priority is to get my message across and have it aesthetically appealing. It is my number one priority - to leave a message. Creating beautiful pages just becomes secondary. As I’ve learned it will always be beautiful - because it is my memory. And many years from now, the layouts will go unnoticed by many in my online gallery, but those that matter - my husband and kids, my family, my loved ones - they will be surely looking at my pages again and again and again. So I need to make the story known - my story, OUR story :)

SugarFree Challenge: My Trigger

SSD SugarFree

Im hosting this week’s SugarFree Challenge this week, and would love for you to play along:

This week’s prompt for our Sugar Free Challenge is to scrap our triggers - those things or habits, attitudes, persons, or just about anything that makes you incredibly mad or angry.

So I can be Clean and Un-Cluttered..

..and completely organized.

That will be my scrap space, office space, hangout at home all at once. :)

I have been having a hard time creating “freestyle” pages so this was quite a bit of a challenge for me :). I *hope* I can have more time to explore this technique though. Scrapbooking has become an art form for me as well.

SSD’s Collab Kit: Some Kind of Wonderful

SSD has done it again! They have released this wonderful kit aptly called, “Some Kind of Wonderful” (of course! LOL).

You can get it free for every $10 of purchase :)

Time Capsule

This is a little project I have been working on - this book will be the product of Designer Digital’s Write Now Challenges and SSD’s POP Rocks! Challenges. I am seriously backlogged though! But I sure wish I have the time to really scrap everyday. Sometimes, when time isnt the factor, Im seriously lacking in scrapping mojo - aint that unfair sometimes? :) OH well, let’s hope this will be one of the many books Ill finish this year! After all, it says 2007 right there in the title page! LOL

Shabby Princess Sale.

*sigh* I really had a hard time controlling myself during the Shabby Princess Sale. It took every last ounce of willpower to be able to not to checkout everything from her store, LOL.

In the end, I ended up with these goodies:

The Prince and Princess Albums.

And I get to have this for free:

Now all I have to do is make *sure* I get to finish these albums in time! LOL.

Queen of the Crop at SBG.

My very good friend, Angie, is one of the finalist at the QOTC contest at SBG. I would very much appreciate your vote! It would only cost $2.00 and you get an awesome goody bag! PLUS! If ever Angie wins, her winning charity of choice is the Doctors without Borders organization.

You can vote for her, here.

**Wave templates from Gina Miller - a freebie while back.

I have always confessed to be a clean and simple scrapper. I like things to be simple, just let the photos and journalling speak. I especially love how the waves I cut with the papers just enhanced the over-all appeal and design of this one. I really love this. *Quite proud of this one actually*.

Scrap Artist Studios: Open Your Eyes, Ears, Nose and Mouth

I have just signed up for the first class being offered by ScrapArtist, called Open Your Eyes, Ears, Nose and Mouth. I have always been a student at heart and I love taking classes. I also have to admit seeing Jenn Olson lead the class made me sign up right away. She is one of my scrapping idols :).

Hopefully, this class will teach me how to really turn my hobby of scrapbooking into really preserving my family’s memories. I have always prided myself with being good at journalling. Lately though, I see my pages take into nothing with writing and I inspected my layouts for this year and almost 25% were not worthy to be printed (if at all) - there was just more to it - the page, the photos, the memory, that I have failed to capture.

Oftentimes, we get to be too caught up with the latest trends and styles in the industry that we forget why *we scrap*.

Im taking this class to help me remember why.

Songbird Avenue - Petites Fleurs!

SongBird Blinkie

Did you read the blinkie? Design + Charity = Happiness

Songbird Avenue June Kit

The new kit by the Songbird Avenue is very close to my heart - simply because the chosen charity organization for this month is the American Diabetes Association. As you know, my paternal grandmother and father are inflicted with diabetes and it is really a crippling disease.

The kit designer Jan and Meredith have partnered with is Dianne Rigdon.

You can purchase the kit, or donate, here.
